It starts innocently enough; a sniffle here, an ache there and suddenly you find yourself in the middle of a full blown illness induced funk, What's a super parent to do? Take a deep breathe. We can get through this together.
* Snuggle time: a sick super parents best friend. If he looks sleepy, head for bed. If your wee one is small enough, safe guard your sleep area to prevent falls and climb in together under those inviting covers. Maybe take a few books to read to your son or daughter if a transition to sleep time is needed.
I'm Erica Svendsen; a Maternal Support Practitioner/doula in ongoing education and training, natural birth and breastfeeding advocate, educator and mother. Human bodies were built for birthing. People were built for connecting. I believe in the ability of each and every body to birth with confidence. My goal is to live as an accessible education and support resource to families in in matters of pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum/transitioning time, including but not limited to: community support building, birth art, comfort measures, sing and dance, baby wearing, cloth diapering, non-medicated birth, & home birth. I also teach children and adults of all ages and range of abilities (we're all differently-abled) to grow and care for food in a local urban community garden. I fancy myself an upcycler extraordinaire, poet, blogger, philosopher, DIY advocate, aspiring mindful minimalist, conscientious consumer in training, inventor, social justice activist and baby wearing Super Mama <3
